When we are inspired, our bodies produce more serotonin and dopamine. It’s the moment when logic turns off. Inspiration originates in a specific area in the human brain: it lives in the superior temporal sulcus, roughly under our right ear. When inspiration hits, it looks like peaks of gamma rays in the brain, which are anticipated by a “flash” of waves in the visual cortex, in the back of the head.
